Leslie Vadnais has a secret recipe for success. A lifelong chef who has been catering for the past 20 years, Vadnais sees meal creation as a way to really engage with the people around her.

“My feeling is that food is love, and creating amazing meals for people is how I share myself with my community,” she said.

At Holidazzle, she’ll be sharing her creations with all who stop by her tent. You can find her at the Spaetzle by Venus location throughout the Holidazzle run Thursdays through Sundays from Friday, November 25 through Friday, December 23. Holidazzle is open Thursdays from 5-9 pm, Fridays from 5-10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am-10 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.

Her spaetzles will include a variety of options, including cheese or stroganoff with a choice of sweet or savory toppings. A comfort food with origins in Germany, Vadnais said she enjoys seeing the expressions on people’s faces when they try spaetzles and take that first bite.

Preparing meals she loves here at Holidazzle makes for a special opportunity this holiday season.

“I am really thrilled that Minneapolis has been able to maintain the spirit of the tradition of Holidazzle while creating a festival in which attendees interact with vendors and with each other,” Vadnais said. “I love that it brings people together despite winter, and actually, in some ways to celebrate winter.”

When you come to try spaetzles, you’ll find a warm, friendly welcome.

“We love to chat and interact with all of our customers,” she said. “I feel that the dish we serve is really a unique interpretation of the traditional spaetzle recipe. I am always excited for people to experience it.”

Vadnais said she’s excited to be part of the Holidazzle experience this winter and enjoy meeting people, taking in the festive atmosphere and even getting to know other vendors who are part of the fun.

“Sharing my delicious creations is a true joy,” Vadnais said. “I love the sense of community that grows among the vendors and among everyone who joins in the festivities.”
