Ever been frustrated with the lack of quality in a product you bought, or a service that was provided to you?
Heidi Dubois knows the feeling.
Dubois, the designer and owner of Comfortbugbyheidi, was unimpressed with store-bought items that couldn’t stand the test. So she started making baby and child items for her own children.
After Heidi decided to become a stay at home mother, one of her friends highly encouraged her to use Etsy as a way to sell her creations. Then in November of 2011, Heidi did just that and launched her business.
Everything that Heidi currently sells, she made first for one of her own children. Family and friends began to encourage her to make more for sale. In other words, Heidi’s creations are kid-tested, mother-approved.
“I will always make a quality product,” she said. “I hope they [Holidazzle goers] see how much love I put into my products.”
This year during Holidazzle you can shop Comfortbugbyheidi Nov. 25-27. You will find minky blankets (toddler size, super soft), aprons with chef hats (2 sizes of aprons), baby bib sets, burp cloth sets, tooth-fairy pillows, toddler backpacks, coffee cozies and lovies (mini sensory blankets).
Heidi absolutely loves what she does and although it is just currently her working for her business, she has plenty of people in her life that volunteer to help and cheer her on. Her husband helps create props and displays while her sister is a huge advertiser and supporter.
“My business wouldn’t survive without them and many other great friends who step in to help without question,” Heidi said.
Holidazzle’s full calendar run is Thursdays through Sundays from Friday, November 25 through Friday, December 23. It is open Thursdays from 5-9 pm, Fridays from 5-10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am-10 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.
What excites her about Holidazzle this winter?
“The people mostly. I love seeing happy people having a great time, and I can’t imagine you’d go to Holidazzle and not be happy.”
She is also extremely excited about the other businesses coming to Holidazzle this year.
“The lineup of businesses looks to be amazing,” she said, “and I can’t wait to see (and shop) all their goodies.”
