Jessica Newton and Sara Hammerstad have always shared a passion for all things craft, and have wanted to start their own business for quite some time. After a few afternoons crafting with friends, they met up to finally make it happen. Then during the summer of 2014, Jessica and Sara became co-owners of PartlyCloudy Collective.
Both being professional graphic designers, Jessica and Sara enjoy spending time away from their computers to actually make something with their hands.
“In some shape or form, everything is handmade by the two of us at our kitchen tables,” Sara said.
When you stop by during Holidazzle from Dec. 1-4, you will find handmade jewelry, wall décor, etched glass, leather and wood burned ornaments, screen printed tote bags and pillows- most of which show a little love for our home state.
Holidazzle’s full calendar run is Thursdays through Sundays from Friday, November 25 through Friday, December 23. It is open Thursdays from 5-9 pm, Fridays from 5-10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am-10 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.
During Holidazzle, Jessica and Sara hope people find the joy (or relief) of discovering that perfect gift for someone on your Christmas list when they visit PartlyCloudy Collective. They also want Holidazzle goers to know that they will be helping out this local small business while enjoying a pleasant shopping experience you won’t find at a mall.
Jessica and Sara are beyond excited to be a part of something that has been a Minneapolis holiday tradition for years.
“It’s a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the bright lights that amplify the magic of the holiday season,” Jessica said.
They’re excited to be part of Holidazzle and the Minneapolis festivities this winter.
“Minnesota is the most picture-perfect backdrop for the holidays,” Jessica said. “It’s like a festive snow globe.”
