U.S. Bank Giving Back To Its Hometown Through Interactive Lighting Experience At Holidazzle

U.S. Bank takes its origins here in Minneapolis seriously. The company is committed to helping give back to the community throughout the year. During the winter season, U.S. Bank helping support Holidazzle through being the annual holiday tradition’s Interactive Lighting Display partner.

As part of U.S. Bank’s commitment to Holidazzle, it helped make it possible to bring the Wolf and Moose exhibit to Loring Park this winter. A Christopher Lutter-Gardella creation, the Wolf and Moose were originally part of the Creative City Challenge this summer outside the Minneapolis Convention  Center.

This winter, they were re-lit to help bring holiday cheer to Loring Park.

“The Holidazzle is a wonderful tradition for the city of Minneapolis and the greater Twin Cities area,” said Phillip Trier, Twin Cities Market President for U.S. Bank. “It is an opportunity for many people to bring their families into Downtown Minneapolis to see the city and the lights and celebrate the season together. We are fortunate to have our headquarters in such a vibrant city and are fortunate to be part of the Holidazzle this season.”

As part of an effort to help bring more light and ‘dazzle’ to Holidazzle in 2016, a Request for Submissions was sent out this summer to help bring ideas to the forefront on how to create a collectively dazzling experience.

From this Request for Submissions, several elements were brought to life. The Wolf and Moose are lit and bring an interactive component to the experience—all ages are encouraged to peddle each exhibit to create sound and motion, and you can also move the exhibits through pulling ropes while enjoying the overall ambiance.

Other elements of the Holidazzle lighting that complement the Wolf and Moose include commercial twinkle lights and up-lighting in the trees within the Holidazzle footprint as well as Knitteapolis yarnbombs scattered on tree trunks throughout.

The WOlf and Moose are comprised of recycled materials. The animals are comprised of 90 percent recycled waste-stream materials including 7,179 recycled plastic jugs/bottles, 320 yards of recycled window screens and hundreds of feet of waste (end-run) CATV coalxial cable.

During Holidazzle, U.S. Bank is excited about bringing people together to enjoy the ice, the season and the company.

“The holidays are a natural time for people to pause and celebrate this special time of year,” Trier said. “For us, it is a time for our employees to reflect and to take a break and enjoy family and friends and events the city of Minneapolis hosts during the holidays. Holidazzle has become an important tradition.”
