Moxie Malas Provides a Meaningful Way to Give a Gift this Holidazzle

Intention, purpose and motivation seems to be mala maven/expert, Jessica Hoch’s mantra.

“My work is about creating beautiful accessories with meaning and purpose behind them,” Jessica said.

Her company, Moxie Malas, sells crystal healing and aromatherapy jewelry. This includes malas (meditation beads), bracelets, and necklaces; which you can all find this winter at Holidazzle Dec. 14-17.

This year, Holidazzle’s full calendar run is Thursdays through Sundays from Friday, November 24 through Saturday, December 23. It is open Thursdays from 5-9 pm, Fridays from 5-10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am-10 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.

Everything in the collection is created with genuine gemstones and crystals. Some of the pieces have stones specifically used to diffuse essential oils – combining crystal healing and aromatherapy. Also, the stones or crystals are cleansed with sage before being sent home with their new owners. Once cleansed, they are ready to be charged with the specific wearer’s intentions. Whatever they may be.

Almost two years ago, Jessica started out making this jewelry as gifts for friends and family. The idea came from her love of yoga and meditation. After noticing a significant amount of people looking for meaningful ways to give gifts and/or wear meaningful jewelry themselves, she was influenced to start a business.

“As a yoga teacher, I see so many people creating intention and purpose in their life,” Jessica said. “The jewelry is a vehicle for that message, as well as reminding them of how supported they are in those endeavors.”

Originally from Shoreview, Jessica loves being a part of the Minneapolis Community.

“Minnesota is my home, and my heart and soul are here,” she said. “I grew up going to Holidazzle with family and have fond memories over the years.”

She also loves the idea of being a part of a community of makers in the Minneapolis area as well. Jessica wants people to walk away from her tent this Holidazzle feeling empowered, supported, and loved.

“We all look to leave our mark in the world, and that can sometimes feel daunting,” Jessica said. “When we can have a reminder that we are not alone, we can achieve amazing things.”
