Wells Fargo appreciates the history and cultural significance that outdoor skating represents with Minnesotans. They’re committed to helping make sure our community has opportunities to enjoy getting on the ice this winter.
That’s why Wells Fargo is proud to be part of the Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate rink in Loring Park this winter, which will open Wednesday, November 15 and will run daily through the winter skating season. The skating rink complements the Wells Fargo WinterSkate in St. Paul and offers an opportunity to skate outdoors under the downtown Minneapolis skyline.
“Skating is such an important part of Minnesota’s winter culture, and we’re excited to put an outdoor rink in downtown Minneapolis in addition to our outdoor rink in St. Paul,” Wells Fargo Minnesota Region President Joe Ravens said. “This will be a great way for everyone to enjoy downtown Minneapolis while creating memories at the rink, and we are very excited to be part of the winter festivities in Minneapolis.”
The Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate will be open daily, and it is free to the public. It is produced in partnership with the mpls downtown council and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The Warming House courtesy of CenterPoint Energy will offer a warm place to hop on and off the ice from 3-9 pm on Mondays-Fridays, 9 am-9 pm on Saturdays, 10 am-6 pm on Sundays and special hours for holidays and Minneapolis Public School early release days.
Complimentary skates of various sizes will be available during warming house hours on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ravens said Wells Fargo is extremely excited to help facilitate skating in the downtown Minneapolis area and hopes it will help bring the community together while also signifying the beginning of the holiday season.
The Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate will be part of scheduled programming and activities throughout the winter, including Holidazzle in Loring Park on Thursdays through Sundays from November 23 through December 23.
Community outreach is an important piece of Wells Fargo’s commitment to creating a vibrant place to live, work, play and explore. They’ve been influential in the Downtown Minneapolis community through their overall engagement, and they’re excited to add Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate this winter.
“In Minnesota, we have more than 20,000 Wells Fargo team members who donate financially and volunteer their time to thousands of nonprofit organizations, schools and religious institutions year-round,” Ravens said. “We are committed to helping our customers succeed financially, supporting long-term economic growth and investing in local communities to enhance the quality of life of Minnesotans.”
The reason they’re so committed is they believe working alongside their customers helps create a stronger and more vibrant place to live.
And perhaps there’s not a better way to give back to a Minnesota community than through gathering people together on the ice.
“Winter and outdoor activities are very important to Minnesotans as we love to get outside as much as possible,” Ravens said. “WinterSkate will create a fun and free winter experience for visitors of all ages while giving them the opportunity to take in the beautiful views of downtown Minneapolis and Loring Park. We invite everyone to lace up their skates and enjoy this wonderful outdoor rink.”
Wells Fargo is hopeful that the Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate will provide a great winter experience this holiday season and throughout the skating season for those who live, work and visit downtown Minneapolis.
They’re committed to helping this community thrive.
“Wells Fargo has a 131-year tradition in Minnesota and we are a committed stakeholder in the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Downtown Council’s Intersections: The Downtown 2025 Plan,” Ravens said. “WinterSkate will be an extraordinary way to showcase the unique Minneapolis Downtown landscapes and the strong connection that residents and businesses have when it comes to fostering the natural environment that surrounds this great city.”
