Ann Aas has turned a passion into a business, and this year, she’s bringing AnnMade in Minnesota to Holidazzle.
“I’ve been creating jewelry for about five years,” Ann says. “I’ve been focusing on enamel jewelry for the past three years after taking an enameling class. I loved the process and the unpredictable nature of fire combined with metal and glass.”
That process results in beautiful, unique jewelry pieces and accessories. Enamel earrings, necklaces and bracelets will be available for purchase at Holidazzle.
“I create each piece of jewelry,” Ann explains. “I use a torch to fuse glass to metal or brass. Once the components are enameled, I rivet and wrap to create colorful, joyful jewelry.”
Ann is even incorporating a new, fun activity for guests at Holidazzle this year. She says although it is targeted toward kids, everyone is welcome to participate. Guests can purchase an enamel charm (animals, snowflakes, Minnesota charms and more) and decide if they want it made into a keychain, necklace, zipper pull or a tag for their pet’s collar. One piece will cost $13, two will cost $24 and three will cost $33. The finished piece will come in a gift bag.
AnnMade in Minnesota will be at Holidazzle from November 23-25, the opening weekend. Holidazzle’s full calendar run is Thursdays through Sundays from Friday, November 23 through Sunday, December 23. It is open Thursdays from 5-9 pm, Fridays from 5-10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am-10 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.
“I’m excited to be a part of this great Minneapolis holiday event,” Ann says of Holidazzle. “I love that Minnesotans come out in any weather to celebrate. I hope to meet many families and friends who are building their own traditions this year.”
A native of Minnesota herself, Aas hails from Mankato and currently lives in Chanhassen. Her state pride comes through in her jewelry as well.
“I will have a large assortment of Minnesota jewelry,” Ann says. “It’s jewelry for all ages.”
