Stitches by Carin Brings Handmade Items with a Touch of Sweden

Minnesota has long had a Scandinavian connection, a connection that has lasted generations. This year at Holidazzle, Stitches by Carin is bringing a Swedish flavor with their handmade items.

Stitches by Carin is entirely run by one person, Carin Ekstrand-Anderson. Carin will have hats, bags, shawls and hair accessories available for purchase at Holidazzle. All of the items are made by Carin herself. Born and raised in Sweden, Carin is excited to bring her business to Holidazzle for the first time.

“Holidazzle means the beginning of the holiday season,” she says. “Minnesota’s holiday season is cozy. I love the snow and lights glowing in the dark.”

Stitches by Carin will be at Holidazzle on November 23-25 and December 22-23. Holidazzle runs Thursdays through Sundays from Friday, November 23 through Sunday, December 23. It is open Thursdays from 5-9 pm, Fridays from 5-10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am-10 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.

Carin started her business a little less than two years ago, and she even orders some of her yarn from Sweden. Creating items from hand is something Carin has enjoyed for quite some time, and she’s glad that her unique pieces can be enjoyed by Minnesotans at Holidazzle.

“I like to create and make things,” Carin explains. “I have always been sewing and knitting, and my kids are all moved out now. It’s time for me to do what I enjoy!”
